2025 Trophy Winners

Record numbers of certificates for completed journeys were handed at our Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation evening in Torquay, but the highlight of the night was the presentation of trophies. This year saw the introduction of a new award, the Endurance Trophy, in honour of our President and former Chair Brian Dawson. This is named after Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ship and awarded to an individual who has endured and overcome difficulties on the journey. The first recipient is Christine Sabin, a New Zealander who cycled LEJOG over 35 days. Our most prestigious cup, the Griffin trophy, awarded to the person who has raised the greatest amount for charity, went to Chris Stanbury, who raised over ?20,000 for orphanage children after walking the route in both directions. The youngest trophy winner was Josie Elliott who, aged 7, cycled JOGLE with her family in 26 days, a remarkable achievement, while the most colourful recipient was undoubtedly baked bean fanatic Captain Beany (pictured), who was awarded the Alex Dick Jubilee Cup for walking JOGLE in 44 days.
