The 1st LEJOG SUP Journey

In Summer/Autumn 2021 Dave Chant and Sophie Witter become the first pair to paddleboard from Land’s End to John o’ Groats, an expedition that lasted 89 days and 1703 km from South to North. Then in Winter 2021/Spring 2022 they consecutively walked back from John O’Groats, a hike that took them through the worst of the UK Winter weather covering 2425 km and 148 days to get back to Land’s End. Finally in April 2022 – only a week after completing the hike with time and cost pressures – they cycled back up to John o’ Groats thereby being also the first people in the world to do the triathlon within a year. 1744 km and 20 days later, they were the first ever to paddle, hike and cycle this iconic route within a year. What a fantastic achievement.
