Tiggywinkles!

8-year old Harry Peska has now cycled two remarkable journeys from Land’s End to John O’ Groats and has raised money thousands of pounds for Tiggywinkles, the hedgehog charity. In 2022, Harry and his dad Nick cycled LEJOG for the first time and raised an incredible £18,000 for Tiggywinkles. With their trailer christened ‘Tiggy’ they encountered many challenges along the way, including being chased by five bulls in a field whilst taking a break from cycling! Cycling with an 8-year old, connected by wireless helmets, can be fun as Nick found out on a daily basis. Going up hill, Harry’s favourite phrases included “I’ve reached my limit, I can’t go on, I think I might die!”. Whilst on downhill sections Harry would sing “Don’t stop me now” and shout at the top of his voice “This is the best day ever”. As they reached John O’ Groats, Harry turned to his Dad and asked “Can we do it again?”. Once over the shock, his Dad replied “sure”, and guess what, they did it all again in the summer of 2023, taking 35 days and raising a further £4,500 for Tiggywinkles. What a fabulous achievement for Harry (and his Dad!).
