Shanks’ Pony

Having reached the major milestone of his 60th birthday, Steve decided to mark the occasion by heading off to walk from Land’s End to John O’ Groats. Steve wanted to challenge himself and enjoy a life-enhancing experience, fundraising for SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity. Despite some failures with his camping kit Steve completed the journey in 93 days helped by the kindness of strangers when most in need. Steve was honoured to receive the Association’s “Shanks’ Pony” trophy for his successful journey. In his own words “I certainly achieved both objectives on my unforgettable journey”.
