Our 42nd AGM took place at the Toorak Hotel in Torquay recently. Russell George chaired his first meeting since taking over the reins from Brian Dawson and more than 40 members attended. Russell reported that our membership has grown significantly during the year, reaching 323 members, while we now have over 14,500 followers on our Facebook pages. Among the new Officer roles, Dan Murphy was elected as Treasurer and Louise George was re-appointed as Social Media Secretary, having taken a year’s break. A new panel was formed to share journey and route planning advice to new members, with specialists covering walking, cycling, driving, and public transport. After the meeting a large group of members joined a muddy walk to the local hostelry in Cockington.
