LEJOG Association respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

Most of the personal information the association processes is provided to us directly by our members for one of the following reasons:

We do not share their information with any organisations or individuals other than those named above.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Member’s consent. They can remove their consent at any time. They can do this by contacting the Membership Secretary at the address at the head of this policy or by email to membership@lejog.org

The Membership Secretary will confirm that their consent has been withdrawn and that the relevant information has been removed from the association’s records and destroyed.

(b) The association has a contractual obligation, i.e. it needs a member’s name, address and email address so that they can be informed about the work of the association.

Members’ personal information is stored securely on the Membership Secretary’s computer. The Membership Secretary’s computer is held in a locked location and is password protected. 

Retention of personal information

Under data protection law, a member has the following rights:

A member is not required to pay any charge for exercising their rights. If a member makes a request relating to their personal information, the association has one month to respond to them.

Members should contact the association either at the address at the head of this policy or by email to membership@lejog.org if they wish to make a request or enquiry relating to their personal information.

How to complain

If a member has any concerns about the association’s use of their personal information, they can make a complaint to the association using either the contact details at the head of this policy or by email to secretary@lejog.org.

A member can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if they are unhappy with how the association has used their personal information.
